Study on the Electric Actuation of Liquid Metal Column in Confining System

Abstract Research on micro-machines is becoming popular. In this paper, the electric driving behavior of liquid metal columns in confining channel was studied. When field applied, near negative electrode became flat, longer. The NaOH electrolyte (1.0 mol/L) could flow from positive to a small space above column. Besides, length and volume would affect its motion deformation behavior. Both cylindrical column ( R = 5 mm, L cm) linear 40 exhibit deformable movements, which are similar bionic movements earthworms. electrically driven closed systems provide theoretical basis for droplet actuation microtubes. It has very wide application prospect micro-drive machines.
